Carl Zeiss VisuMax 800 (2023)

CARL ZEISS Technology

The MEL 90 eye laser system, developed by the renowned German company Carl Zeiss, has been one of the most widely used devices for laser eye treatments for many years. Numerous empirical studies have consistently demonstrated that the Carl Zeiss excimer laser is among the most reliable and precise laser systems currently available on the market.

When combined with Wavefront technology and the advanced Carl Zeiss VisuMax 800 femtosecond laser (introduced in 2023), it enables the most modern eye laser procedures, such as iLASIK (individual LASIK) or Wavefront-Femto-LASIK.

Furthermore, the VisuMax femtosecond laser facilitates the minimally invasive and innovative ReLEx SMILE technique, which eliminates the need for creating a corneal flap, offering patients a gentler and more precise treatment option.

Your benefits

Variable scanning spot (Variable Spot Scanning, VSS): The scanning spot is the area that is processed when the laser is activated. The smaller the spot diameter, i.e. “the finer the laser beam”, the more precisely it can be used. The MEL90 excimer laser enables a minimally small spot size of 0.65 millimeters. This means that the laser works very precisely and removes less cornea in comparison.

Variable Repetition Rate (VRR): VRR enables treatment at different repetition rates and thus optimizes treatment time.

Active 3-D eye tracking (ActiveTrak 3-D Active Eye Tracking): Eye movements can be immediately tracked and thus compensated.

ActiveTrak Automatic Centering: Automatically locates and aligns the center of treatment to the center of the eye’s pupil.
